Warehouse Reach Truck Operators

The Warehouse Reach Truck Operator will ensure safe and accurate receipt, storage, and shipment of food products utilizing equipment including, but not limited to, stand-up forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.

Main Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Maintain cleanliness of WCS.
  • Ensure food safety procedures are followed.
  • Operate warehouse equipment:
    • Reach truck.
    • Forklift.
    • Pallet jack.
    • Hand truck.
  • Load and unload trucks and containers using equipment provided in safe and efficient manner.
  • Check and count freight for accuracy and/or damage. Take inventory as needed.
  • Direct product to correct area in warehouse.
  • Report faulty equipment, damage to racks, and other safety hazards to the supervisor.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

  • Capable of lifting up to 70 lbs.
  • Minimum high school diploma-GED.
  • 12 months of warehouse experience.
  • Ability to become reach truck and forklift certified.

The Warehouse Specialist is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a forklift/pallet jack for moving, locating, stacking, loading, unloading, and counting merchandise. The Warehouse Specialist ensures compliance with all relevant regulations and best practices for cold chain management.

 

Main Responsibilities and Duties: 

Receiving:

  • Unloads inbound shipments safely and moves product to the storage locations.
  • Efficiently stacks and stores the product in the appropriate area(s).
  • Prior to product storage, count all products and compare count to the driver’s manifest.
  • Checks all shipments for damage, infestation, production and or expiration code dates, and lot numbers.
  • Reports shortages, damages, and misplacements to the shift lead who will forward the information to the appropriate parties.
  • Scans items to WCS pallet IDs.

 

Order Picking:

  • Pulls and prepares product for shipment, ensuring that the exact number and type of product is loaded and shipped.
  • Ensures product comes from the proper locations and the lot numbers agree to the picking documents.
  • Performs picking duties in an efficient manner that meets customer service standards.

 

Loading:

  • Efficiently moves product from the staging or storage areas into trailers.
  • Scans product into the trailer at the time of loading.

 

Equipment:

  • Loads, unloads, moves, stacks, and stages product and materials using a forklift, pallet jack, or other power equipment.
  • Maintains the equipment and materials in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion.
  • Inspects and verifies that equipment is operating prior to the start of the day’s activity
  • Advises the shift lead of any problems encountered.
  • Operates all equipment safely and efficiently, following prescribed work methods.

 

Safety, Sanitation, and Security:

  • Maintains a clean, neat, and orderly work area.
  • Assists in maintaining the security of the warehouse and conducts operations in a manner that promotes safety.
