The Freightliner Smart Source App from Daimler Trucks North America is a free app that provides quick and easy access to up-to-date news, videos and brochures for Freightliner trucks. The app provides users with the ability to preview, share and save videos, brochures and links, all you need is the last 6 digits of your VPN.
The Smart Source App was recently updated to improve the user experience for drivers. Updates include a new design, personalized notification options and enhanced product support features. These new features have expanded the app’s versatility and is able to better help drivers quickly find the information they need to efficiently operate their Freightliner truck.
Kelly Gedert, vice president of on-highway market development for Daimler Trucks North America, said “Drivers are more connected than ever before and we are dedicated to providing them with useful information about their vehicles delivered in a familiar and easily accessible format via their mobile device”.
New features for the app include:
- Expanded library of VIN-based training videos, which allows users to enter the last 6 digits of their VPN directly into the app to access product training relevant to their specific truck
- Links to online driver and maintenance manuals by model
- Quick access to the freightliner roadside assistance program
- Optional push notification so users can be instantly alerted when new training videos, news, or additional product information is added
