Student Trainees With CDL

CDL drivers who have 3-12 months of over-the-road experience must go through our driver training program. The training program is 4-6 weeks depending on the drivers capability. This program is actual over-the-road driving with a Witte Bros. driver-trainer performing the normal tasks that will be required as a solo driver.

During this training period drivers are paid $55 per day while on the road – up to $385 per week. Successful completion of this program is dependent upon you, the trainee, your over-the-road trainer, and Witte's Safety Department. All three entities must agree that the trainee is ready for solo dispatch.

When the training program is completed, base pay is as follows (based on accumulated experience):

0-6 mo.     24¢ 
6-12 mo.   28¢
1 yr            32¢

 
Qualifications for Driver Trainee

• Be at least 21 years with current Class A CDL
• Pass pre-employment DOT physical, DOT drug screen, and job functioning evaluation
• No DWI or DUI in the last 5 years
• No more than 3 moving violations within the last 3 years, with no more than 2 in the last 12 months
• No more than 1 serious violation in the last 3 years
• No license suspension in the last 5 years
• Stable work history and good references from former employers
• Must live within 150 miles of Troy, MO
